Dave was born and raised in the North Bay and was first exposed to the gospel at a young age. It wasn’t until life-changing events in the mid-1990’s brought him to know Jesus as Lord of his life. An advocate for lifelong learning, Dave has earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in business management, which have served to advance his career in the hospitality industry.
It was a neighborly gift of homegrown tomatoes that led Dave and his wife Lisa to CFF in 2008, and shortly thereafter they became members. Since serving is a central focus for those committed to the body of Christ, Dave immediately sought ministry opportunities in the church. An accomplished bass guitarist, Dave, along with Lisa, serves in the music ministry. Now, after five years on the Diaconate, including a term as chairman, Dave feels called, and the church has confirmed, a role for him as an Elder.
One of his favorite passages from the Bible is Ephesians 2:8-9: “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” For Dave, this is a constant reminder of God’s gift of grace. As the newest elder of our church, Dave oversees the Diaconate, as well as the men’s ministry and the church bookstore and library. Dave and Lisa enjoy baseball, cooking, and travel, as well as spending time with their church family.
