1. Both criminals mocked Jesus
2. One criminal repents and believes
He sees his own sin and the sinless Savior
He came to fear God
He confessed his own sinfulness
He believed in Jesus
He asked Jesus to save him
3. Jesus responds to him
When you receive the gospel and hold it as central, you get sanctification in the bargain. When you receive the gospel and then, move on to other things, you lose both the gospel and it’s sanctifying power.
There are only two ways to view the world. Either the creation is self-existent, naturalistic and complete in and of itself, or, there is a creator who stands apart from and outside of the creation as it’s originator and sustainer.
