Why should we persist in prayer? Oftentimes it seems that God is not listening. But that is never the case. As Jesus shows from this parable, God is always listening. Knowing this, we persist and by doing so, we are strengthened in our faith.
In His earthly ministry Jesus continually performed miraculous acts which were intended to point to His saving work and the work of the Holy Spirit who would come after Jesus ascended to Heaven. Like His disciples, many asked; “Who is this man?” The answer of course is “God”.
How a Christian lives his or her life is important. Our actions speak louder than our words, and if we profess faith in Jesus Christ, it is our actions that glorify God and Christ. Jesus said “If you love me you will keep my commands.” Living right before God and men actually adorns the doctrine of God and Paul tells Titus.
What exactly does it mean to be “in Christ”? That supernatural union is the very ground of our salvation, sanctification and perseverance. The words “In Christ” underscore the tremendous love of God and His grace toward sinners in the saving of a people to be His own for His eternal praise and glory.
