Jesus promises that there is a hunger and thirst that He promises to satisfy.
God’s provision shines brightest in times of crisis.
Jesus is the Source of Life. He is the giver of life, and when He declares come forth, life is granted. All events in this life are for the purpose of glorifying God.
The purpose of the church is to exalt God, edify the body and evangelize the lost.
When you receive the gospel and hold it as central, you get sanctification in the bargain. When you receive the gospel and then, move on to other things, you lose both the gospel and it’s sanctifying power.
Jesus now asks the Jewish leaders a difficult question, “Whose Son is the Messiah?”. This will give Jesus an opportunity to explain that the Messiah is much more than a descendant of David. He is God.
